Some information about HP 5972 MSD and OI4560 P&T

We have a HP5890 GC. We plan to convert it to GCMS for VOC analysis. One vender suggests a HP5972 MSD (15 years old), OI4560 purge and trap (12 years old) and Varian-Archon auto-sampler. All of them are refurbished.
My question: 1) normally how long a MSD can last? 2) are OI4560 purge and trap (12 years old) and Varian-Archon auto-sampler easy to use? I am new for purge &trap. 3) I use HP 5970 MSD before, I feel it is hard to change the filament and install the column. How about HP 5972? Is it easier to maintain 5972? Thanks a lot!

We've used our 5972 constantly since 1996, good unit. But it is out-of-support. It has two filaments, software switchable.

Are filaments tough to replace? Ours last quite a while. But we would mostly clean the source while we were in there to replace filaments.
