Hi there
I use the bruker HCT(hystar control) and the dionex ultimate 3000 nano HPLC stack(DCMSlink control) for protein id and it generally works v well. Recently though I've experienced loss of communication with the autosampler(only). A cold restart of the dionex stack reestablishes communication but only for a few minutes at most. The firmware is up to date and the usb connections are secure. All other devices are working fine and i experience no communication issues ever with these other devices. The software hasn't been changed/updated.I don't think my lc method has been corrupted but maybe someone could forward one in wordpad/notepad just to be sure.
Has anyone experienced this irrating problem and found a way of fixing it?
Cheers
Brendan
Are you sure the computer is set so that it won't conserve energy by shutting off USB power?
Thanks,

yes that was one of first things I checked so the power saving is set to inactive
I'm pretty new to CM... Next!

have you updated the firmwares recently that you point it out?
go also to the event viewer, and look in the applications for a related error or warning occurring when you loose connection.
also try another thing
change the usb cable
if that does not help
change the USB hubs that you use
first on the sampler
then on the PC
It is most likely no Chromeleon issue but related to the physical USB connection. How is the autosampler connected? Directly or through a hub? Try to replace the cable and to use a secure USB socket at the computer. If this also does not help, you might have a problem with the USB connector of the sampler. Replacing the main board should fix this worst scenario. Please contact your local support in the latter case.

Holger
