Hi all,

please advise for test Ethylene chlorohydrin by DB-1 column with many thank

thx a lot

see peak location for 2-chloroethanol

DB-1 column should be similar in retention times given the diameter and phase thickness.

Dear Rod,

Many thank for advise :D
these chromatogram is GC or GC-MS?
if i use GC-FID may be not same this chromatogram, right?

thx a lot

"these chromatogram is GC or GC-MS?"

GC

It is not the detector which determine RT, but carrier gas, its flow rate, column temperature, phase film type, its thickness, are the variables involved. There may be and there are variances between columns and even intracolumn which causes RT variations. You are expecting too much to predict with any accuracy the retention time of an analyte on a column.

best wishes

Rod
