Kovats Index translation to other method

Hi everybody,
We have our own library with more than 3000 entries for a very long method
We're going to change the carrier gas and other parameters in order to optimize our time of analysis and we want to know if anybody here knows an easy mode to translate the Kovats index of our library to the new method or we have to build the library again.
Thanks in advance for the answer..

The whole idea of a retention index is that it is supposed to be robust to changes in conditions. The only thing that you cannot change is the stationary phase. Of course real life is not so simple and if you are using a polar column or you change the temperature programme dramatically you will see some shifts. whether thses are significant will depend on what you are using the library for, and how you use it.

Thanks for your indications.
We want to minimize the time of analysis so we are going to increase the temperature ramp and we are thinking about change the carrier gas, too.
It should be great if all retention indexs will shift with the same pattern, in this way we can correct the deviation in our current library without run every substances in the new method.
