Hi

i am working in an environmental chemistry lab. and i analyze VOCs according to""" EN 13649 Stationary source emissions. Determination of the mass concentration of individual gaseous organic compounds. Activated carbon and solvent desorption method """

now i use, Shimadzu GC-2010 plus with FID detector, Teknokroma capillary column:TRB-624(60m*0.25mm*1,4um).

My analyze time is too long for us about 1 hour, i am and searching a way to get shortened it. i found a column that has specifications like written below:
Rtx-624
Temp. Limits:-20 to 240°C
Length:40m
Internal Diameter:0.18mm
df (µm):1.00μm
and with this column Restek analyzed some chemicals on http://www.restek.com/chromatogram/view/GC_EV00701

the question is;
may i use this column and mixes to determine VOCs?
can anybody help me about choosing column and mix for VOCs?

i am waiting your advices
As Regards

Choice looks good. We had problems with few column brands for TO-15, canister method.
We found that only 1 and higher up to 3 um film works. In my hands the best column is J&W. Restek has also good columns, but J&W last and last, but they are much dearer. If you are expecting a wide range of concentrations, use 0.25id columns.

What compounds you analize with this method?
