How do you change the top board on a 5972?
It has been quite a few years since I replaced the top board on a 5972.

It was quite simple.
After venting, remove the cover and you will see the top board.
Disconnect any cables, and you will see several screws that hold the assembly.

Remove the screws and lift the board out.
Replace the board and the screws
Connect the cables.
Pump the system down

You must than dip the RF Coils.
I am a bit fuzzy on this since it has been so long.

You will see two threaded posts on the left.
You want to turn them as you monitor your progress in chem station.
I would contact Agilent and get advice on dipping the RF.
Overall the procedure was quite simple.

If you need to chat I would be available.

Regards
