hi, my company tried to save money so now i am testing the double side gold seal. But the tailing is more bigger than before. Is the ferrul the same or should be bigger? My instrument is 6890NB, GCFID, use the temperature programme
Is there any suggestion for me how i can solve the problem?
thank you
rebecca
You mean the double-vespel inlet gold seal, like from Restek?

We use them, and we like them.

My guess is an installation issue. Re-do the installation, and that seal is re-usable. How far does the capillary protrude fast the ferrule? Did you trim the column a bit after inserting through the ferrule? Stuff like that.
If the only difference is a bottom vespel seal rather than a washer I don't think the gold seal is the issue. Your column positioning or some other inlet problem is more likely.
Yes, I did trim the column. The column is new, before i tried the double side gold seal, it's good. I wil try to reinstall again, maybe the ferrule is wrong.
when you flip to other side, the surface is ok? mine is dark.
thank you guys to answer my question
