Hi all
We are in the process of moving to windows 7 (64 bit) & ordered a compatible version of Chromeleon (6.8 SR11 I think).

After picking myself off the floor at the cost of this software. I installed the software. On launching it, I found that our IC2000 had to be updated to 3.1.0 (I think!). I cannot find the firmware files anywhere (not in the directory server configuration leads me to or elsewhere. I have searched the software disk & the computer for files of the type .fmw ( the default type looked for) & the .hex file. Nothing is found.

Help
I need this for classes early next week & I can't go back to my "beloved" XP machines.

Hi Kevin,

I'm not aware of the ICS2000 firmware requirement with 6.8 SR11. Are you able to connect at all with the IC? Can you confirm the version of Chromeleon you purchased, the version you updated from, and the current firmware of your ICS2000?
Best regards,

Hi, sorry for the late answer. On your Chromeleon CD you will find a folder "Additional document". In this folder you will find the document "IC Firmware Validation Matrix - 2011-08.pdf". The recommendation for your ICS-2000 is Firmware 3.1.0. Contact your local Dionex Representative or email me at stefan.brand@thermofisher.com.

I'm curious about your comment about the cost of the software, and wondering how your expectations were set. All chromatography software costs a lot more than consumer software, but that's true of any software produced for a relatively limited set of customers -- there are fewer customers over which to spread the development and support costs.

To keep things in perspective: Chromeleon costs significantly less than other full-featured chromatography data systems, and many people like it much better. There are a few options on the market that cost less than Chromeleon, but their feature sets and performance do not come anywhere close to what the full-featured products offer.
