Hi Everyone

I have purchased accustandard 8270 svoc mix dissolved is 75:25 (metheylene chloride : benzene). I want to make secondary stand by diluting this mix. For diluting which solvent is best either hexane or methylene chloride. pls. assist
regards
I would ssay this depends entirely on whicih of the two will obliterate any parts of the chromatogram. As you are aleady in 75% methylene chloride you might as well use more. NB check your blank injections, this stuff often has a few impurity peaks in it striaght from the bottle.
Where can I buy the kit they use in CSI?
organicchem,

I would suggest you look at what your samples are going to end up in. If you are doing environmental and using DCM and will KD your samples down to 1 mL in DCM, then I would dilute your standard in DCM.

There is no issue with solubility as your next dilution will be at least 10 folds.
For env. samples we used pure DCM.
Consider the Certan vials (Supelco) too.
