We have a new stack, but the ALS 1313A isn't showing up using the gameboy, or through Chemistation. We have a backup ALS (1329A) that does show up. We thought it was firmware, all other units are A.05.11, but it won't come up in the firmware udater either. The config switches are identical to the ALS that is working.

Any thoughts on where we should go next?
I tried the hard reset (confit 1,2,8, up, all others down).

Nothing new.

With the controller attached, it just continually reboots. Never gets to a control screen.
One options is, that FW in ALS is to high or low, to communicate with other modules. Connect ALS directly to detector, and with Firmware tool lower the fw of detector (both the resident and main). What fw version do you have on controler?
The controller is a G1323A, current FW is A.02.02. I know it can upgrade to A.02.10, but we don't have a PC card.

FW on the other units was A.05.11, which was the last compatabile rev for the G1323A controller. Are there issues where the FW of the detector won't talk to previous versions of the ALS? When we first set up the stack I noticed some of the units were still on A.04.X, but we updated their firmware. The G1313A never come online though.

I thought if it had old firmware, it would still show up on the updater tool. Can I put the JetDirect directly into the ALS and try that?
Ok, I put the JetDirect into the back of the ALS and connect it directly to the computer. I can now see the unit in this config. FW is A.06.10. That is the same as the rest of the stack. But when I put the card back into the Detector, I can no longer see it.

Kind of at a loss here...
OK, I reflashed both firmwares twice, and that seemed to do it. I guess there must have been some corruption.

Looks like that was it.

So, if you can't see your unit, you should drop the JetDirect directly into it, hook it up alone, and flash the firmware. Seems to do the trick!
