Dionex ICE column (AS6) question

Hi all,

We're using a Dionex ICE column, recommended eluent is heptofluoro-butyric, we will use hydrochloric (we know the background conductivity will be higher) but our question is the regeneration fluid recommended is tetrebutylammonium hydroxide for supression - can we use sodium hydroxide as an alternative?

Many thanks.

Hi Lynzjm,

If TBAOH is too costly try TMAOH, don't use NaOH, as the TBA ion is responsible for weak acid eluant suppression, TBA+ OSA– pair has low conductance and is partially Ionized post suppressor

Not sure if this helps

Cheers
