For as long as I can remember, Dionex has maintained the policy that only those end users who own Dionex HPLC systems can buy consumables. While our Dionex rep has been great about accommodating us, it takes extra time to go through him to place an order and we always feel like Dionex is doing us a favor by allowing us to buy their columns. We really like the Dionex ion exchange columns but there are plenty of other choices. I, for one, am fed up with this arrogant, self serving policy and will not buy so much as a ferrule from Dionex EVER again!

I never go through our rep for columns. I just buy online or through their general phone number to order.

I didn't ever know there was a policy like this. Although some of my Dionex interactions have been...questionable.

I am sorry to see your experience has been less than satisfying. We at Thermofisher Scientific formally Dionex, pride ourselves in looking after our customers. To my knowledge Thermofisher do not have such a policy as it is anticompetitive by US law. If you would be kind enough to get back to me with an outline of your problem I will personally see it is rectified in both your instances.
