MS2 Scan Time

Hello all,

I am attempting an MS2 Full Scan while trying to develop a method.

I would like to know about how to set MS2 Scan Time?

Right now the current setting is at 500?, Any idea as to what this number is or how to optimize?

I would like to scan from 700-800 AMU

I am using a Agilent 6410 QQQ, LC/MS/MS.

Thanks
it depends on what is your peak width and how many events you have in your method
if you have only one event, that is fragment with only one collision energy, then 500ms is tolerable, however I would suggest to decrease this to get more data accross the peak

when you set up several events in the method with different collision energies you should decrease the scan time so as to the total scan time would be adequate to the peak width, e.g. 5 events with 100ms scan time each
