Sugar Sample cleanup

I have situation where I have aqueous sugar solutions that may also contain low levels of protein and/or some lipids...

I have to clean out the other stuff besides the sugars before going on to the next step in the process and it needs to stay aqueous. I was thinking that I might be able to do that using a C18 SPE cartridge and eluting with just water. My thought is that the sugars would not retain but the other stuff would.

Is that likely to work?

Thanks,
- Karen

Should be able to achieve it easily with dSPE - that'll let you just shake it, centrifuge it and keep going.

Karen,

The pores on the C18 might be too small to capture the proteins. Find something with a very large pore size.
