CID fragmentation

Hello everyone,

I have a Shimadzu single quadrupole LC-MS and I would like to increase the fragmentation in my ESI source, by Collision Induced Dissociation. Is there any source parameter that I can change to obtain more extensive fragmentation? If someone has used the same software and can provide me with the name of the specific parameter in the software, that would be of great help!

Thank you

What feed gas are you proposing to use?

I haven't worked on Shimadzu systems, but usually we perform in-source CID by increasing the voltage on the plate that is located at the entrance of the mass spectrometer (ABSciex calls it declustering potential and Waters cone voltage). The ions are accelerated and fragmented in the "still-quite-high-pressure" region of the transfer optics.
