More and more we seem to have issues baseline quality (humps, bumps, steps etc.) with generic gradient conditions with 0.05%/0.1% TFA containing mobile phases @ low wavelengths e.g. 220 nm.

I was wondering if we would see less issues if we'd move to using something like 0.05% perchloric acid instead. Has anyone tried something like this and if so did it improve or remove the various baseline artifacts common with TFA containing eluents?
