Empower: Possibility to change Processing Type

Hey,
is there any possibilty to change the processing type of a processing method in Empower?
e.g. GC to LC or LC to PDA?
It's really annoying to write a new method just because of this.
Thanks!

Instrument methods must fit the instrument being used (unless you're using eSATINs or SAT/INs).
Processing methods don't care what kind of detection you use (except for processing spectral data delivered by PDAs).
I use the exact same processing method for 2489 and 2487 detectors - but I have to use different instrument methods for them.
If you could be a little more specific as to the nature of your problem, we might be more helpful.

I'm confused. How would you change a processing type from LC to PDA? PDA is the detection method, LC is the separation method.
As far as using a processing method for a different method you can right click on a processing method and copy it to another project, i.e. for a project that is meant for GC analysis. However GCs use much different detectors than LC systems so i'm not sure how valuable a processing method would be.

the terminology is:
a method set comprise of:
an instrument method- to run the system and acquire data- these ones need to be instrument specific- if you confuse between them you will get weird bugs
the processing method- to integrate and analyse the data after the samples have been run- you can change those freely
the report publisher- to define the way you will print out your results either on paper or PDF- you can always change those as well
if you have several instruments in client server mode it is very much advised to create an instrument method for each system and that will be the base for your new methods, otherwise you will get those very weird bugs
for convenience it is good to have a method set ready for each system as well, but it is not a must
for the convenience of calculating results, you can also create predefined reports and process methods that will match
it all comes down to giving the files a name that is self explanatory

I guess your answers are not what Empower-ole wanted to know.
He wants to know if it is possible to change the type of the processing method, which has to be choosen while creating a new one (e.g. LC (2D channels) or PDA (3D-Channels)).
For example, in the past you had only a TUV detector and now you installed a PDA. You still can apply the old processing method to the PDA data but you won't get the spetrca data as the type of the proc-meth is LC.
So you have to re-create the processing method with the PDA-type.
As far as I know, there is no possibilty to just switch the type of the processing method, once it has been created.
If there is one, I'm also interessted to know.
But as with the most tables in Empower you maybe can use Copy/Paste of the data from the old processing method to the new one, so as to speed things.
