Acylation Derivatisation

I am performing an Acylation derivatisation of OH groups for an active at low levels. Some of the documentation has highlighted that a siliconization of the glassware is performed.

Is this the same as silanization? as to reduce contamination I am going to perform the derivatisation directly in the HPLC vial and then inject and need to know if silanized vials are critical.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure that "siliconization" is a synonym for "silylation". As to the necessity, I can't help there.

Thanks Tom

I tried replicate derivatisations in both Siliconised and non Siliconised values and the recoveries and %RSD were similar so it should be ok.
