Connecting Varian 8100 autosampler to Varian 3800

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with a problem.

I’m trying to connect a recently purchased refurb. Varian 8100 autosampler to our Varian CP3800 but am having difficulties as it has the wrong connection cable for our GC.

It is a 13 pin connector and needs to go into a 25 pin (SID1) connection on our Varian CP-3800 GC.

I’ve contacted Agilent and Bruker, who haven’t been able to offer any advice, other than the part that would help is out of stock with them.

I have been told by agilent that the 13 pin connector is to connect to a Varian 3400GC, but the autosampler would be ok to use with our GC if it had the correct 25 pin connector.

What I have been trying to find is a wiring diagram to be able to wire up our own 25 pin plug or alternatively a serial cable to connect it to our GC. There is a 392530201 Cable, serial 8100/8200 to CP3800; which might be ideal to use, but are out of stock the places we have checked.

Thanks for any ideas anyone may have! :)

A quick solution to the problem might be to just order a cheap Varian 8100 autosampler on eBay. I see one on there for $50. Looks like some components might not be working, but probably related to the carousel motor or back board. If the 25 pin cable is included, it seems like a good price and then you also have some spare parts to work with if you need them.
