Dear all,

I need to connect my TGA to a GC/MS (MS + TCD) and wonder if anyone ever done this before?

and also if you know where I can get a standalone heated transferline as the distance TGA-GC is 2 metres.

Greatful for any comments

Interesting problem. I assume that you're trying to characterize off-gassing products. You'll probably need an intermediary trap of some sort, as the off-gassing timeframe is typically incompatible with that of chromatography. Or, it may be possible to just hold the column temperature low enough and let it serve as your trap.

You can using heat trace to create a transfer line, or you can run some deactivated fused silica through a nickel tube (1/8") and resistively heat the nickel tubing. Either option should work for what you're trying to accomplish.

Good luck!
