Problem with MassHunter Software

Hi,

Is it true that if you have unknown samples that they must be run in the same batch as your calibration curve samples?

e.g. I have tried to calculate the concentration of unknown samples I ran this morning on a calibration curve I put on earlier in the week (a different batch). This works okay but if I try to come back to this analysis file later it seems to have been corrupted and will not open again. The software will crash.

Any help is much appreciated,
Thanks,
D

I wouldn't recommend you do this, even if the software lets you. Ionisation efficiency can vary a lot over the course of several days.

Thanks for your feedback.
I note your comment regarding the ionization efficiency. Perhaps I gave a poor example!

The problem I have is that if I have a number of unknown samples, that will be available at different parts of the day, I will not be able to process them against a calibration curve that was run that morning (unless I have them in the same batch). This will lead to big sequences or multiple calibration curves for one day. I am hoping to avoid this.

I checked my MassHunter and add some samples from different days than calibration curve (i never use calibration with samples from different batch) didn't get any errors all files are correct and Agilent MassHunter Quantitative application work properly.

Maybe delete the Quantitative folder (the one with calibration curve) and try to make curve once again than add samples ?
