Bogus autoinjector wash procedure.

Discussions about GC and other "gas phase" separation techniques.

I am using an Agilent 6890N GC with a 7683 series autoinjector. When I tell the autosampler to wash the needle before injecting the sample (AAABBB->sample, where A = rinse needle with solvent A, discard to waste), it does this instead: AAABBBAAABBB->sample.

Is there a solution for this? I am running ChemStation A 10.01 [1635]

Thanks,

Luke
I see there are a lot of views on this thread but no responses. Is my explanation of the problem I am experiencing clear? Or am I just the only one with this issue :(

Not that its a huge problem, just rather annoying that the machine won't do what I tell it to... :?
The problem you described only happens in the first run of the sequence. It should run as it's set up to do in the software from the second run in the sequence.
Oh, alright, I will check that out. Is that just a bug in my version of chemstation, or is there actually a solution to this?
