Acidity effect on derivatization

Hi guys/gals.
I am derivatizing with IBCF a sample in 0.1 molar HCl. I have another sample that had been prepared in 5 molar HCl and dried. If I am going to re-hydrate with 1 mL of water that mean the sample HCl molarity will go back to 5 molar. Can I proceed with the same derivatization as 0.1 molar HCl or should I adjust the molarity form 5 M to 0.1 M HCL. Also, it is very difficult to adjust the molarity because I will loose the sample concentration.

If you have a sample that was in 5 M HCl and was evaporated to dryness, you have probably lost much or most of the HCl to evaporation.
