I have to detect mixture of chlorosilanes on Agilent 7890A/TCD/FID. Can someone help me figure out a couple of parameters for the experiment-

Conc of the sample
Sample size
I don't know the retention time of these compounds, so what should be the length of the run?
Have you done a search for GC methods for chlorosilanes? A quick Google search produced several hits. The people on this forum are glad to help :) but we expect that posters will have done some preliminary information gathering.
Yes. I have been doing research on it since a while. I have selected SPB Octyl column that is specially used for such compounds. I looked up and found that the elution order depends on their boiling points. Selected TCD and fID detector. However, I am not very sure about how to set up method parameters like split ration n oven temp for the same.
I am doing a sample run just to check how the column owrks but I can only see noise no peaks. I am using nitrogen as a sample gas n helium as carrier. what might be the issue? There are no leaks anywhere.
