Hi,

I am wondering if there are some good books about mass spectrometry and its application for fresh people to study.

Thanks,

Jake
amazon has a number of good books and mass spectrometry: principles and applications by edmond de hoffmann seems to be a good starting point (based on the reviews posted on amazon.com).
I happen to think the book Jack Watson and I wrote Introduction to Mass Spectrometry: Instrumentation, Applications and Strategies for Data Interpretation, 4th Ed. is about the best book available; of course (ISBN 978-0-470-51634-8). Our book has 800+ page and over 4,000 literature citations

I also like Jurgen Gross's Mass Spectrometry: A Textbook, 2nd Ed. The thing I dislike about the DeHoffmann book is that none of the literature citations have the titles of the Journal articles. Both mine and Jack's book and Gross's book have Journal artiles with all the citation.

If you are interested in GC/MS, Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry: A Practical Guide, 2nd Ed., is another book that I have authored with Zelda Penton. (ISBN 978-0-12-373628-4).
