DMMP in air. GC column

Discussions about GC and other "gas phase" separation techniques.

Hi,
I´m trying to analize at 10ppm levels of Dimethyl methylphosphonate(DMMP),Methyl salicylate and Di-iso-propylene glycol monomethyl ether on an air sample containing 80% water (humidity) on a GC-FID.
I wonder how the FID will behave, having 80% humidity in the sample, if the flame will shut down. And also if an FID will have enough sensibility to detect 10ppm of such compounds.
I´m also wondering which GC column will fit best for this separation.
If any one of you have ever faced with this separation , I´d appreciate your advice.
best regards
Jul

Some refrences that may be of help are included in a work describing a number of anlytical techniques for DMMP in air and other matricies. http://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/toxprofiles/tp119-c6.pdf Part of the question is how you intend to sample the air. If you trap analytes on something like Tenax water should not be much of a problem, as it appears that Tenax has been used as a solid phase adsorbant for DMMP out of varous food substances, including milk. This was GC-FID work and is cited as Canton et. al., 1994.
