TEA in Mass Spec Mobile Phase

Hi All,

I have been given a method of analysing Oligonucleotides using a known contaminant (TEA 5mM) in the mobile phase. I know that this will cause days of flushing the Mass Spec after use, but there does not seem to be any other alternatives out there? Unless anybody knows of one and is willing to share?

Thanks,
Barbara

Hi,
If you use Sil C18 etc. - you don't have other alternatives: IP HPLC-MS of ON with Sil C18 etc. and TEA (TEA+HFIP) - it's "classic".

I tried to use HILIC mode (SIL 120A, better: 200-300A) but it was unsuccessful (unsatisfactorily K and Rs).
I think that HILIC may give successful result (Sil Amide etc.), but this approach must be investigated.

P.S.: Sometime i'm use TBA (tributylamine) for some applications...
