Chiral chromatography, LC recyclers

We are planning to start to perform chiral LC analysis of lipids, however, chiral chromatography is a new area for our team. Anybody know if there are any (used) LC recyclers available? Supposedly they are generally needed. How about chiral columns? - please tell us what columns you or your colleagues are using. Thank you for any ideas or answers.

I'm not sure why a mobile phase recycler should be more necessary for chiral than for any other type of separation unless you using a chiral (expensive) additive in the mobile phase (which is uncommon these days).

Our purpose is to circulate the sample many times through the column, not to save solvents per se.

Hello
I dont know the "LCrecycler" but I know "closed-loop-recycling" - Its a great method to increase selectivity espeacially in Enantioseperations.
As I know, this is only used for preparative separations, but it generally should work for analytical chromatography, too.
If you plan a system, I would focus on two points:
A dual Piston pump with no fast solvent sucking function - in order to avoid mixing effects in the Pumphead
A Detector flowcell with a high pressure rating
Best regards
Chris

I'm with Tom on this one. You will need a column though. Try calling Chiral Technologies or Regis.

are you planning to move this procedure to production or to do a lot of the analyses?
otherwise it might not be cost effective to do recycling.
prep chiral is known for it's use of recycling because of the use of normal phase solvents
since it is mostly isocratic and only of 2 peaks, it is economically simple and efficient
