Varian 3800 EFC and tubing

I got my hands on a mingled Varian 3800 GC and was able to restore it almost completely.

As the tubing was gutted as well I have some questions:
1.) What kind of capillaries (material, I.D., O.D. etc.) are used for the 3800 tubing? (I have some colored remnants on the entry points of the back of the unit which look like PEEK).
2.) Where are the entry and exit points of gas on the 3800 EFC revision 4 and how is split control done?

Thanks :)

Any chance you can post some pictures or at least provide some additional information? What injector(s) are installed? 1177 or 1079? And are the flow controllers type 20 or 25? Are you also trying to setup detector flow controllers? If so, what detector(s) are installed and what revisions of flow controllers?

Some pictures and more detailed information on the installed flow controllers would help greatly at this point.

I'll take pictures and post those to the forum.

Regarding the flow controllers: How can I determine the type of them?

My only concern is flow control for the injector whose type is unknown to me. I hope you'll be able to tell from my (soon to be posted) pictures.

[EDIT] It's an EFC Type 4, Fixt. 1, Rev. 4, Serial #0723 with Pressure and Flow valve.

The unit looks as follows:

The edit did not change the post's date... so I did it now :D

I seem to remember the Varian field guy telling me it's all PEEK. Sorry, can't help with the flow details.

Send us an email (ultimatescience101@gmail.com) and we'll send you a schematic of the flow controller. We are digging for one now, most likely a PDF.

From what we recall, that particular flow controller is generally used with a 1041 or 1061 injector. How many injectors are on the GC? Have you tried powering it up yet? That would be a quick way to see which injectors are installed on the system.

Thank you very much!

To clarify: I got the GC torn apart with detector and injector ripped out and their electrical and gas connections cut in the middle (as in ripped apart).
Those connections were restored in the meantime except for the EFC which I left unconnected.

I also found that the injector is a 1079 formerly connected to the EFC Type 4.
I'm looking forward to the schematics and hope to get the GC working again soon.
