I am having trouble hooking up an HP1100 HPLC to the Quattro Ultima triple quad MS. As of now there is a relay cord running from the HP 1100 autosampler to the contact closure 1 of the MS, but I can't seem to get that connection to work. When I go to configure the MS inlet method it gives me an error of "Failed to open sicl communication session at address hpib7,21. SICL error: -No error. Does anyone know what's going on.

I still am having issues with the connection but i think it is due to the drivers for the HPIB card are not in masslynx. I need the instillation cd or someone who has the cd for masslynx 4.0 so i can get the drivers off of it. If you know anyone who has this my email is narient_82@yahoo.com.

I found out that the issue was not the drivers or the Masslynx software but with the Agilent side. I was running an Agilent 1100 series LC and Chemstation software that didn't allow for the LC to be hooked up via HPIB. So you need to make sure that your version of LC software can handle the HPIB for your system. I was using a 82350B HPIB PCI ADAPTER CARD because it is the only one that Masslynx will recognize. But your software may be different and I would advise checking card compatibility.
