Releasing a system in Galaxie

Hey Folks.

I have a problem where a GC was running samples when the acquisition PC went down. Unfortunately the GC is now locked out in Galaxie Admin Manager so I can't reassign it to a different acquisition server.

I've tried start/stop in admin manager but with the acquisition PC down I can't communicate with the GC.

The GC is remains locked out if Galaxie even with the GC rebooted.

Rebooting the main server isn't an option at this time.

Possible ways forward appreciated.

Look for the service in
C:\WINNT\system32\services.msc

Stopping the aquisition engine might do the trick.
Unfortunately the acquisition PC was taken out into the yard and put out of it's misery. Part of the problem is that the acquistion server no longer physically exists but the GC is still locked to in and so far can't be unlocked.

I rebooted the main server this morning and that hasn't resolved the issue either. I think the next approach will be to create a new acquisition server with the same name as the dead one.

Have you restarted the star box ?
Hello,

you should be able to drag/drop the system (from the configuration manager) to another client computer (it will be its new acquisition server).
If you cannot do that (if you get error messages trying to do that), then, it means your DCOMs setting are not correctly set.
Please refer to the Installation guide to set them as recommended.

If you still have issues, please contact Agilent for support.

Hopefully that will help.
Regards
