ı have been working in agilent 1200 systems. my method is containing reversed phase solvents.

ı change my pump seal every 3 or 5 mounths. ı think this time span is lower life for pump seal. ıt reduces a big cost for our. my shut down method containing a acetonitrille. ı red a article about pump seal ' higher acn value can reduce pump seal because acn to wet the pump seal surface than meoh'

what is the possible cause this problem?

thanks every body.
Check with Agilent regarding their recommendations for seals. In my experience, premature seal failure is more often associated with leaving buffer-containing mobile phases in the pump at shut down (as opposed to flushing the buffers out of the pump), so a shut-down with ACN is generally a good idea.
