So our Chemstation computer crashed and everything had to be reinstalled on a new system. It has been a royal pain in the you know what getting these instruments to talk to one another. We have a 6890 plus with a Jetdirect card and a 5975C MSD. Things are talking now but not very well. Chemstation is now dropping communications with the GC after it loads on the GC. I can control the GC and change methods but for no reason the status box will go from green and IDLE to Red and OFFLINE. Any suggestions? Places I should start looking? Everything pings OK and I know the IP addresses are good.
Thanks for any help.

When it is show RED Offline can you still ping it? If not, check your cable connections and your hub. Sometimes one port on a hub can start to fail and moving the cable to another port will work.

I think also it is connection problem, Jet card is sensitive to static electrical charge, make sure, that GC is properly grounded, also, sometime you can ground jetcard too, but easiest way will be to change lan cable and see what happens, to exclude lan cable issue.
