Hi,
Any columns suggestion for separation of H2-O2-N2-CH4 in pure NH3?
I have in mind a precolumn with a heartcut valve and a second column type Mol Sieve 5A. The precolumn to separate nh3 from permanent gases and second column for separation of permanent gases.
What is the berst column to use as pre column?
thanks

You could try the Carboxen 1010

I'm not sure how it'll handle the ammonia or where the ammonia might elute/interfere. It is a single column alternative that's not as sensitive to moisture as the 5A.

If you are using capillary columns, use a Wax column for column 1.
Other choices might be better if a packed column is used.
Tiger,
I do consult at inexpensive prices.

Thanks Rod.
What would be your suggestion for Packed column? Which column would separate NH3 from permanent gases without too much interference?

Is this an offer to hire me?
The proper solution may be more complicated than a simple column recommendation.
That is why I don't wish to lead you astray. But to give away the cow when the farmer needs milk doesn't make sense for me, either.
best wishes,
Rod
