Good afternoon,

Our analyst is receiving an error message when trying to save a method.

Untranslatable Errno: (c:\hpchem\1\methods\0916xxx.m\*.*)

I'm more of an IT person than a chemstation person. To me this appears that there is an issue with reading or writing the file(s).

Any advice?
I would first look at the name that the analyst is trying to save the method under. I am a bit concerned seeing the wild card characters. When you save a method in ChemStation, you just give it a name, and ChemStation will tack the '.m' extension to the name. ChemStation will save all of the files needed for the method in a directory with the name "filename".m. You are not saving ONE file, you are saving ONE directory.

Thanks much for your reply.

The error message has the wildcards in it.

I just went myself and dd the save method using 1007air as the name.

The wildcards gave me some concern also, so I went and ran some of the lines from the maro
(savestrategy savepath$ + "\pbmstrat.mac") <-- I substituted the correct path for the savepath$

it copies the pbmstrat.mac over to the new folder (no errors given).

however, even when I run savemethod from the command line, I get the error
Untranslatable Errno: (c:\hpchem\1\methods\0916air.m\*.*)

thanks in advance

update.

I have narrowed it down to a folder called "refspec" ??

If I delete this folder, the save process completes.

If I rename the folder, copy the contents to a new "refspec" and delete the old folder, the process completes.
