Best Software Option for Agilent Mass Spec

I recently purchased an Agilent 1100 MSD (w/G2445A) and intend to pair it up with either a new Agilent 1260 or an older Agilent 1100 HPLC. I'm leaning towards the older system mainly due to price. But if I go that route can something like Chromeleon control the LC and MSD? I didn't see anything about mass spec aside from the Dionex MSD on the Chromeleon site. What are the options if you don't have Chemstation for this system, and the typical prices for a software suite?

On a related note, if I purchase a new Agilent HPLC will the software have the module for interfacing to the MSD or is that typically extra?

Heck - what other HPLCs can I pair up with this baby?

Thanks

When we got 1100 MSD (with Agilent HPLC 1100) some years ago it had specially modified Chemstation with separate extra window for MSD controll/parameters/spectra - interfaced Bruker software.

I am afraid, since there is a lot of specific MSD programing involved, there probably is no other software supplier who will provide MSD controll features in their chromatography software. Probably You will have to contact Agilent and consult version of the required software depending on Your MSD/HPLC hardware.

R13 - thanks very much for your reply. I think after many hours of digging I need "Chemstation 3D" and I think its part number G2180A. I found an Agilent press release referring to this add-on as containing the software required to control the trap. Does anyone out there have a copy they could sell?

I will also try to contact Agilent but I have the feeling I will be told they don't sell the software any longer.
