How to determine linearity of impurities for Isoflurane?
I assume you have only the isoflurane available and can separate the impurities in question.

First I would determine if the isoflurane is linear in comparison to its impurities with the detector you are using. Make serial dilutions of the isoflurane and then compare the response of the impurities to the isoflurane.

If you dilute the isoflurane and a 1% impurity is still 1% after a 1:1, a 4:1 and a 9:1 dilution (ignoring any response of the diluent) then you know the impurity responds as the isoflurane responds. If the impurity goes up or down in area % then you know you are not in a linear range for isoflurane and/or for its impurity.

This is a quick and easy experiment to perform.

Try it and let us know the results before you try making gravimetric standards.
