Is anyone running GC Chemstation on a Windows 7 computer? Any particular issues? If so, what revision level ?

Best regards,

AICMM

AICMM,

We have version C.01.01 and C.01.02 running on Windows 7. The only problem we have seen is that a Simulated Distillation package that we use needs a dongle for licence verification, and it would appear that Windows 7 does not recognise the dongle.

Gasman,

Thank you for the notes. All of the units I have worked on are still on XP but there are people I work with who are discussing 7 now.

Appreciate the comments.

Best regards,

AICMM

I have the LC and GC Chemstation as well as MSD Chemstation running on Windows 7, but Agilent did the installs, not me.

We are running gc Chemstation, lc Chemstation & MSD Chemstation on windows 7 (64 bit) without issue. I dont have the versions to hand but all the software was received early this year so they may be the current versions. The 64 bit wasn't our choice but so far so good. We did have to set up the ips for the instruments as fixed ips using telnet rather than use bootp each time they turn on but that could have been due to settings put on the computers by our IT department when they install the OS.

LCMS Chemstation is a totally different issue. We have had lots of problems with things like Chemstation not letting us select where the data is stored, the writing of PDF reports etc. The big problem has been communication issues with our 1946D MSD. The io libraries required for this model don't like our OS at all. We are now running the LCMS Chemstation in a windows xp virtual machine inside the windows 7 OS. It is not ideal but until a 64 bit version of LCMS Chemstation comes out, it seems to be the way to go.

A person has posted an instruction on their web site for B.04, may be compatible with earlier versions?

http://jbbeach.com/files/Chemstation/In ... dows_7.pdf

this may assist.

Sirdaniel,
We are running the LCMS Chemstation in an XP image using the VMware program (not microsoft's virtualization program).
If you need more details email me at
