i want to do teh mass calibration ona Tof with CsI... I was in a hurry and I think i may have ordered the wrong grade...

I went to our primary vendor for Stuff instead of Sigma Aldrich and searched for Cesium Iodide and ordered what i thought was the purest grade in the list as it said 99.999% and had it rushed so i would have it Wednesday AM.

Then this evening I found teh actual manufacture's info on it and it said Cesium iodide, 99.999% (metals basis)...

I then searched Sigma-Aldrich and they had a specific grade for MS calibration...

Can I use what i ordered for the calibration? is it likely to cause any issues? Should I order and wait for the the 'right' grade from Sigma?

Please answer the several basically questions (e.g. what is your instrument) first. Thank you.

I don't think the grade is important in that case: you will perform external calibration with it and the grade won't have any influence on the background noise present during subsequent analyses. However CsI itself is quite sticky and may remain in the source even though you flush it with the mobile phase for a while, causing ion suppression or unwanted adducts.
