Hi dear,
I am using Galaxie data control in Varian 3900. The recorder signal unit is micro volt and its getting too sensitive and giving noise of 400-500 microvolt. I am getting my peaks but due to baseline noise I am having problems. Can any one help me how to change recorder (signal) unit from micro volt to milli volt in galaxie data control sysytem. Thanks for your help

Hello,

Galaxie will continur collecting in micro-volt but you can display into another unit.
To change from uV to mV you need to go into the Galaxie Configuration Manager software, then you to Systems section.
There you select your GC in the list (it should be there)... and select its channel (only one chanel on 3900 I suppose). Then you right click to have the popup menu and choose 'properties'.
Then a screen will display the 'native' unit (uV), will ask you to provide your unit (mV or whatever you want) and will ask for the convesion factor to go from uV to mV (in that case it is 0.001, which is dividing by 1000). Now, next run will be in mV... I am just unsure if you will have to rebuild your method from scratch or not...

best regards
