Anyone of you has idea to analyses this pesticide compound? As i know it is determined by GC-NPD, but my lab just have GC-FID only.

Thanks.

Hi

GC-FID works, its just not selective like the NPD. As long as its has the sensitivity and you can separate the hexaconazole from anything else eluting you will be fine.
Just use a base deactivated liner to help reduce tailing.

If I'm not mistaken, boiling point for Hexaconazole is around 490 degree celcius. My supplier told me that most of the FID detector couldn't stand at that high temperature? is it true?

Depending upon the GC you're using, set the base of the detector to 340. (For H-P it need to be higher). Hexaconazole is very difficult by GC - you're way better off using LC for this compound.
