Whenever I turn on the detector of the prep hplc, the integrator goes crazy and shows a whole lot of random peeks instead of a baseline. As soon as I turn off the detector, it shows a straight baseline. I have tried so many things but can't find the problem. I'm stuck and don't know what to do now. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

If hooked up correctly to detector, make sure integrator attenuation isn't set way sensitive, maybe you're seeing big giant baseline noise. With detector off, there is no signal, even tiny.

I think you are right. I checked the integrator settings and it seems they are back to default. The attenuation was 0 and when I raised it I immediately saw a decrease in the baseline noise. Thanks so much.
