100 mMol mineral acid for RP column?

Bischoff shows a beautiful separation of organic acids on a carbamate phase with
100 mMolar phosphoric acid as a mobile phase. Has anyone tried something like
that with a reversed phase column? The pH must be around 1. I would like to try
it but I'm afraid I'll lose my stationary phase before I even equilibrate.

There *are* columns with special bonding chemistry that will survive down that low (for example, the "sterically protected" phases in the Zorbax StableBond) but they are the exception rather than the rule. I would check with the manufacturer of the specific column you plan to use and establish the recommended pH range.
