I would like to know about crosstalk in quadrupole MS-MS. How does it happen? How can you minimize it, what factors favor it?

Thank you very much!

try to enter a dummy ion Q1 analyte mass and Q1 ISTD FOR EXAMPLE
analyte mass 327.1 500.0 ( dummy ion) enter ISTD MASS 192.0.
as well as in Q3.
if the parent analyte and parent ISTD have the same duaghters you will experience a cross talk situation. the dummy ion will eliminate the cross talk. also usefull if you have analyte and metabolite.[/quote]

Isotopically labeled standards coelute with the analyte. The thought is that all ion-suppression or enhancement phenomena that happen with the analyte also happen with the internal standard, and thus they can be used for perfect calibration even if the chromatography is messy.
They are not always used, because it is some effort to make these things.
