Does anyone out there use OI's model 4660 concentrator for volatiles? If so, do you like it and how often do you have to change the trap?

When I used to work in the lab, I used an OI 4660 for two years and had some serious problems with a few key compounds. Never got reproducible results for two compounds. Moved to Tekmar and got much better results immediately.

I was trying to remember which analytes - they were heavies - I remember one being napthalene being one. I know when we changed out two of the sample pathway lines, the problem went away. But it came back within 4 months.

In regards to how often you have to change the trap - this definitely depends on how many samples you analyze. It's my understanding that most people change it ever 8 mo to a year.
