I have been asked for margin of error for a validated method. I am validating the method at 95% confidence level and goes smooth. Now, the customer is asking for margin of error for the first time. I have learned from internet sometimes back about calculating the margin of error and web site is as below
http://stattrek.com/ap-statistics-4/mar ... .aspx-----
My standard deviation of 6 replicate analysis is 0.85. According to the definition and formula, I am calculating the margin of error as follows
Margin of error = Critical value x Standard deviation
= 1.96 x 0.85
= 1.666
Note: critical value at 95% confidence level is 1.96
I am not very familiar with statistics, so , anybody who usually do or know about margin of error, please rectify me and correct me if I am doing it wrong.
