Hi Guys,

I am suffered a lot from the placebo interference from my syrup sample. I could not resolve my impurity peaks from placebo peaks. I tried with different columns and mobile phase. My sample has 2 actives, methylparaben, propyl paraben, sorbitol, FDC red40, Sugar, Sodium Citrate and citric acid. Due to one of my active components nature i cannot go for more sample concentration and higher wavelength. My working wavelength is 205 nm. Anyone can help me to resolve this.

thanks in advance

Maybe you should get rid of the matrix effect by doing SPE sample preparation. Did you also try a HILIC column?

Hi Gerhard,

Can you explain how to perform SPE. Because this is the first time i am going to perform.

HILIC column will work? I will try it today and get back to you

HILIC Column also not good enough to resolve the peaks

I would do use a C18 SPE to clean the sample, using an Water as solvent. Which HILIC column you tried?
