Totalchrom - Result file empty randomly

Hi,

We are struggling with a problem when we are performing analyzes with Totalchrom. Quite randomly (not always) after an analysis have been run, the result file comes out empty (0 kb).
Everything is looking ok just right until the end. Then the program stops and hangs a little bit, and the result file is empty.

We have even experienced that a user has run the same sequence and got the correct result file (information included) that failed for the previous user.

This problem is causing a lot of frustration in our company.
Iif anyone has any helpful suggestions on what we can try to solve this please let me know.

Thanks & Rgds,

Fad
Hi: may be one or two things. First, check the sequence. Sequence should include raw data file numbers. When you run your sequence, you must choose to either process and print while still running and collecting data (not advised) or process and print at a later time (advised). At that time you have to state what injections are to be processed, and where the result (.rst) files are to be put. This should be chosen carefully, not hastily. File management of such raw and result files should include same base names, only difference in the name should be the extension (.rst or .raw).
Remember when processing data to choose "overwrite previous result files" unless you want lots and lots of result files with the same name, differing only the time stamp.
My guess is that the result files are not missing, just lost somewhere. If you can find them, you should be able to move them to a more desireable place on the hard drive.
Let me know.
