Can we do HPLC analysis with C18 reverse phase of formic acid in the presence of sodium bicarbonate using 10mM phosphate buffer of pH 2.0
We use a specialized organic acid column.
I analyse acetic acid with a reverse phase C18 column.

0.1% phosphoric acid, isocratic at 100% aqueous, 150 x 2.1 mm HSS T3 column (compatible with 100% aqueous conditions). Retention isnt great (k' = 1.5) but it separates from codeine which doesnt elute until a high organic flush at the end of the run.

Detection is UV absorbance at 210 nm. Sensitivity was better than i expected.

Presumably formic acid will elute faster, so good luck!
