Hello coleagues
I use shimadzu GC-17A v3 with Class VP 4.3 software and ss420x A/D bord.
I have problems with H2 flow of FID. When I download a method's parameters to the instrument hydrogen flow turns off. to obtain chormatogram I have to turn H2 on by hand and to reignite detector while autoinjector prepares to inject.
This happens since I changed the computer of the system. I installed and configured the software according to instructions and the same parameters of method I used when everything was ok. The problem occures on Win XP and VISTA, I tried both OS but this isn't the reason.
Gas pressure is within the limits, FID is turn ON both on GC and software. If I start a run from autoinjector by hand everything is ok, but when I start it from software- H2 turns off.
Please give some advises what to do...
thanks and greetings

Hello Ashkata
1) Water sample - water vapor turn flame off , not flame signal - hydrogen valves line off.
2) Also - valves off , or pipline (tube) or nuts destroy (not germetical)
Use foam measuring the velocity ( г (Russian G in manual wrote as 2 in picture) of the gas flow in order to verify that the hydrogen enters the detector in the right quantity.

Could there be a command inserted in to the method that is shutting the detector off?

hi
thanks for replies...
the problem definitely is with the software (ClassVP). After few days of boring fight, I repaired old computer, there was a hardware problem, and I have working system now. Having two computers with Class VP-working and not working, I compared all settings, adjustments and parameters that I know and everything is the same...So I still looking for this command that turns the detector off since the begining of the problem. There is a check box for detector on/off and it's on.
Shimadzu Representative was surprised that the system works with WIN XP because ClassVP4.3 is too old. He supposed that a conflict occures between ClassVP and WIN XP.
I gave up for now because 'good old computer' works. In case of future computer problems I'll have to find where the problem is or to buy new software.
Meanwhile I accept advices.
thanks and greetings

Try copying the software from the old computer to the new one, or just copy the files containing the settings.
